EMERSON, Ga. – The groundwork for an explosive junior year is being put in over the spring and summer months by Neydious “Jhabari” Ellis. The shifty back with developing power out of Tennessee’s Arlington High School has made the rounds this summer camping at top programs throughout the region. From the NexGen TheShow camp in Georgia, Ellis updates how he is drawing recruiting attention his way.

The Tigers’ style of play was detailed.

“Our offense is mainly out of the gun formation,” Ellis said. “We are more of a running team, we barely pass the ball, but that gives me more reps to prove my worth. We are more of a power team trying to get it through the hole. We do have plays to the outside, toss plays, but we are mainly a power offense.”

Goals have been set and are within reach for the 2025 prospect.

“I’m trying to get stronger,” Ellis stated. “The speed is already there, 4.5, that is there, but it is more of a strength thing for me. I am at 173 right now, the goal is to get up to 180 and then to 190; that is about getting stronger and getting my footwork right.”

To put himself on recruiting boards, Ellis has made the rounds this summer.

“I’ve camped at Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, MTSU, Memphis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Tennessee,” Ellis shared. “I just came back from Vanderbilt.”

Ellis continued, “At the Tennessee camp, University of Chattanooga came up to me asking for all of my information. They definitely showed interest in me at the Vanderbilt camp.”

In front of the Bulldogs’ staff in Starkville, Ellis turned in one of his best camp performances.

“I feel that I performed best at the Mississippi State camp,” Ellis said. “I performed well there against some great competition. I showed out and had one of my best combine numbers there.”
