The Arkansas Razorbacks are making a strong effort for a balanced offense in the future landing their third wide receiver commitment for the 2016 class on Friday in Kiel Pollard.

Pollard, 6’2”, 228 pounds, is a standout wide receiver for Colquitt County in Moultrie, Georgia. As a junior Pollard pulled down 66 passes racking up 830 receiving yards with seven scores. The Packers went 15-0 last season capturing a Georgia state championship ending the season as one of the top teams in the nation in 2014.

The Packers have picked up where they left off a year ago starting the season 5-0 with Pollard being quarterback Chase Parrish’s top target with 18 receptions for 301 yards to go along with seven scores.

Pollard has offers from top teams around the nation including Cal, Cincinnati, Boston College, Iowa, Kansas, Central Florida, Purdue, and Georgia Tech.

The Hogs helped seal the deal with Pollard when he visited Fayetteville last weekend for the Texas Tech game.

The commitment became public on Friday when Pollard posted a message on Twitter reading, “I am more then (sic) happy and blessed to say I will be attending the University of Arkansas for the next 4 years! #hognation

Due to Pollard’s size and flashes of his ability at the high school level, could Pollard be transitioned into a running back at Arkansas? So far this season, Packers’ head coach Rush Propst has used Pollard in short-yardage situations giving him six carries for 20 yards with four additional touchdowns.

Pollard has ideal running back size at 6’2”, 228 pounds, and runs his 40-yard dash in the 4.6 range.

Arkansas has pulled a player off Colquitt’s roster for the second consecutive year. In the 2015 class they picked up defensive end T.J. Smith (6’3”, 255).

The Hogs now have 15 verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class. Of the 15, nine players are slated to play on the offensive side of the ball. Pollard is the fourth player who could be used as a wide receiver joining Kofi Boateng, Jordan Jones, and running back/receiver T.J. Hammonds.
