The gifted have a way of making the game look easy. Showing poise and trust in his offensive line, Jackson Presley (6-2, 195) stands tall in the Wolfpack pocket lasering in absolute dimes to every part of the field. Because of Presley’s talents, the Class of 2026 gunslinger is forcing college scouts to look at players in the state of Montana. One SEC team likes what they are seeing dropping an early scholarship opportunity.

The spins of the pigskin produced 3,053 yards with 28 touchdowns against just four picks last season. Wheels are there when needed aiding his Glacier High School (Kalispell) with four rushing scores during Presley’s sophomore campaign.

“Our offense, it is a very QB friendly offense,” Presley said. “Our offensive coordinator (Dustin Haynes) was at Oregon behind Marcus Mariota. We lead the state in passing yards every year; we air it out. I put up good numbers. We have a good offense for quarterbacks.”

Presley continued covering the passing concepts executed in the Wolfpack’s attack, “I was connecting a lot on big posts, hole shots, slant routes, hitches, curls, and digs. That is what is fun about this offense, you are hitting every route.

“We have skill guys that can turn on the burners on the deep routes, we have guys who can break off a route on digs, and we have guys who can make moves out in space. All the routes pretty much in the route tree we ran. Based on the defenses of certain teams, it will depend what we do on what they run. We like the deep and intermediate routes. When needed, we go to our short game.”

The 2023 game reps pushed Presley’s talents to another level.

“I feel that my strengths are not only being a good quarterback on the field, but also having the intangibles like leading a team,” Presley shared. “I feel one of my strengths is being a great leader. When the game is on the line, I want the ball in my hands. I love my players. I will stay in the pocket not rushing a throw or a read; I will stay with the play. I like being the guy the team can count on and lean on. My strength is being a pocket passer/pro style quarterback. Those are my strengths with the position.”

The offseason grind will show on the field this fall and most certainly in the stat column.

“My weekly season schedule is, I wake up at 5:00 every morning and get a workout in Monday through Friday,” Presley stated. “On Monday and Wednesday, I throw in the morning and then after school I lift.

“I am focusing on getting my timing down with all of my receivers. I am increasing my knowledge by watching game film, and learning more about defenses. This offseason I am also focusing on getting more size for this next season. I am very dedicated to my game on the field, I am willing to put the work in and do what it takes to go the distance during the season.”

To add more nuance to his game, Presley is working with quarterback trainers across the country.

“I work with Baylin Trujillo in Florida (Orlando); I recently got connected with him,” Presley shared. “I will work with him out there. I also work with Tori Gurley. We do Zoom calls working on knowledge of the game.”

On the recruiting front, the Razorbacks dropped an offer on Presley in mid-January.

“I received an offer from Arkansas; I have talked to coach (Bobby) Petrino (OC) a good amount,” Presley said. “I am going down there in about a month to go take a look and watch their spring ball practice. When I am there, I will take a look at the campus and all of that stuff.

“Arkansas is definitely a top school for me. I have family in Tulsa. If I went there, they could come to see me play. Arkansas is a top choice for me.”

Presley continued giving more detail to his recruiting process, “Tennessee, Missouri, Washington State, and Wyoming has reached out to me. That is where I am at right now. I am really looking at Arkansas at the moment. I will wait to see how everything pans out. I will be grateful for any opportunity, and I am willing to compete anywhere. The path that God has for me; I am grateful for the opportunities ahead of me. I am blessed to be on this path.”

Asked for more insight on the growing bond with the Hogs’ coaching staff, Presley replied, “I have talked to coach Petrino a couple of times and Miles Fishback (OA). I have talked about them watching our spring ball at my high school and they want to get me there to watch their spring ball, and to come meet them in person.

“When we talk, we talk about what I am doing in the offseason, those types of conversations. I do really like the idea of Arkansas. My dad (Brian Presley – Tulsa Jenks) went there for college. He was a backup for Danny Ford.”

A few more power conference programs may see Presley this spring.

“This fall I went down to Montana State to watch the Bobcats play,” Presley shared. “I also attended a Nebraska game against Iowa after the season ended. I got to take a look around their facilities. I might take a trip out to Tennessee for a camp. I will plan out my camp hits here soon. I am trying to decide which camps I will attend. I may possibly visit Nebraska and Missouri. We’ll see how it all plays out.”

Scouts will get to see extra film of Presley competing with and against top competitors at the Rivals camp in Dallas and an Elite 11 regional.
