Utah avoided some of the upcoming craziness on the recruiting trail with recruits flipping and flopping back-and-forth between different programs when Santa Monica College quarterback Troy Williams signed his letter of intent on Thursday.

Williams started his collegiate career at the University of Washington. The former Narbonne High School star redshirted in 2013 seeing time on the field for the Huskies in 2014. The 6’2”, 210 pound, gunslinger completed 18 of 26 passes for 139 yards with two picks in his lone career start for Washington. Before transferring to Santa Monica College he compiled a career stat line completing 23 of 36 passes for 179 yards with two picks and one rushing touchdown.

The Corsairs finished the 2015 California JUCO schedule with an 11-0, 7-0, record averaging 51 points a game. Williams contributed to the 308 passing yards per game completing 180 of 265 passes for 2,750 yards with 31 touchdowns against just four picks. He also rushed 45 times for 139 yards with two additional scores.

The Utes verbal commitment list has been influx lately. Arizona flipped 3-star quarterback/linebacker Kahi Neves (6’3”, 235 lbs, Brighton HS, Salt Lake City) leaving Williams and Huntley as Utah’s current quarterback commitments. Utah is in need of quarterback depth entering the 2016 season. Both Travis Wilson and backup Kendal Thompson are seniors playing their last game in the Las Vegas Bowl against in-state rival BYU on Saturday.
