Alabama once again was the football standard in the SEC posting a 12-1, 7-1, record winning the West Division title on their way to claiming the SEC Championship with a 29-15 win over then- No. 18 Florida. For the squad’s efforts, coaches around the conference voted 10 Crimson Tide players to the All-Conference teams on Monday tops in the league.

The parity in the conference was evened out a little more with 13 of the 14 conference programs landing at least one first-team selection. Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III was named first-team All-SEC for a third time topping the list of repeat honorees. South Carolina wide receiver/return specialist Pharoh Cooper and Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott earned first-team selections for a second consecutive season. The only program not placing a player on either team was the Kentucky Wildcats.

Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry, and LSU right tackle Vadal Alexander were repeat honorees but moved from 2014 second-team selections to 2015 first-team members. Henry’s accession up to first-team bumped Mississippi’s Evan Engram from a 2014 first-team selection to a 2015 second-team player. Florida linebacker Antonio Morrison and Tennessee defensive lineman Derek Barnett were second-team selections for a second consecutive season.

Two freshman highlighted the second-team offensive selections, Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley and Texas A&M receiver/return specialist Christian Kirk. Kirk garnered three overall second-team selections, all-purpose, wide receiver, and return specialist making him a leading candidate for SEC Freshman of the Year honors being announced on Thursday.

The SEC individual award winners will be announced on Wednesday.
