The Mustangs continue to be one of the surprise teams on the recruiting trail adding two more recruits to their 2017 class on Sunday when cornerback Darrion Green and defensive end Toby Ndukwe verbally committed.

The addition to Ndukwe to SMU’s class is a big win for the Mustangs. Ndukwe (6-2, 215) was a major factor in George Ranch High School’s 16-0 season in 2015 racing to a Texas UIL state championship. In the Longhorns’ 56-0 title win over Lake Ridge (Mansfield), Ndukwe was named Team Defensive MVP.

SMU won Ndukwe’s commitment over offers from Bowling Green, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, and Colorado State.

Wilson was a true two-way player for Woodrow Wilson High School during his junior season getting 59 carries for 258 yards with six scores on offense along with pulling in two passes for 24 yards with another touchdown. The 5’11”, 170 pound, speedster also returned three kicks for the Wildcats covering 106 yards.

Green is considered an athlete but may end up playing corner at the next level. His reported offers have been scattered with Kentucky Christian and Michigan being the other schools seeking his talents at the next level.

SMU has been busy on the recruiting trail. Since mid-March the Mustangs have landed five of their six verbal commitments with offensive tackle Alan Ali being the highest rated as a four-star recruit.
