On Tuesday three Coffeyville Red Raven players were named NJCAA All-Americans. On Wednesday, one of those All-Americans, Jamarcus King, verbally committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks keeping the talented cornerback away from other hopefully SEC programs.

King, originally from Blount High School in Eight Mile, Alabama, is a two-time All-American at the junior college level earning second team considerations in 2014. The 6’1”, 180 pound, athlete racked up 37 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three interceptions during his sophomore season.

College coaches from across the country were lining up hoping to get a shot at bringing King to their campus. In all, 27 scholarship offers have been reported from schools like Missouri, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Arizona State, N.C. State, Utah, and Oklahoma. King took an official visit to Baylor on Nov. 14 and to Arkansas on Dec. 4. He visited Columbia on Dec. 12 committing four days later.

New South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp is on a recruiting roll landing three recruits in the past two days. On Tuesday, Muschamp brought 4-star wide receiver Bryan Edwards back into the mix after he had decommitted in mid-November and landed 3-star defensive end Sadarius Hutcherson out of Tennessee. The Gamecocks are now at 15 verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class.

There is no opportunity for another school to flip King, he has signed his letter of intent with South Carolina.
