Syracuse Secures Zachary 2016 Dual-Threat QB Lindsey Scott

On Monday Syracuse added recruit No. 14 to their 2016 recruiting class landing Zachary, Louisiana dual-threat quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr.

Scott took a big jump onto the recruiting map in 2014 leading the Broncos to a 14-2 record while passing for 2,231 yards with 24 touchdowns. Showing off his versatility, Scott added 965 yards with another 10 scores during his junior season. Zachary is on pace for another big season in 2015 with a 4-1 record. Scott is tracking to surpass his junior season numbers on the ground with 663 yards on 68 carries with 10 scores averaging 133 yards rushing per game. In the pocket he has been sharp completing 70 percent of his passes piling up 983 yards with 11 touchdowns against just one pick.

College recruiters like Scott with 13 offers reported. Some of the schools hoping to pull the 5’11”, 200 pound, athlete to their campus includes Arkansas State, Harvard, Navy, Texas Southern, Colgate, Alcorn State, Grambling State, New Mexico State, Air Force, and Louisiana-Monroe.

The Orange now have 14 verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class. Scott is the second quarterback added to the class with Rex Culpepper (Plant HS, Tampa) verbally committing in early June. Syracuse has done a great job of pulling recruits from around the country. Scott is the first Louisiana prospect committed in the 2016 class but represents the ninth different state talent has been pulled from by the Orange. Some of the highlights of the class include Camden (NJ) linebacker Dymelle Parker, Waukesha West (WI) lineman Sam Heckel, Forestview (NC) running back Moe Neal, Mays (GA) cornerback Monquavion Brinson along with Scott and Culpepper.
