Whatever a college football team may need from a defensive end out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, that talent has been made available, but not for long. The depth of former highly recruited ends changing venues is vast but teams slow to react are missing out. So far, three former four-star ends have swapped jerseys along with nine three-stars.

Whether a defensive coordinator needs a big end in a 3-4 or a pass rushing presence off the edge in a 4-3, they are out there. If the thought holds true about the SEC receiving the greatest amount of recruiting talent year after year, Christmas has come early and/or is being extended for some programs in need. So far, 10 ends that were lining up during the 2020 season for a Southeastern Conference program have entered the portal; three from LSU.

Another team seeing a heavy exodus is Georgia Tech. The ACC squad has lost four ends thus far. Some other teams reshuffling the roster includes Mississippi State (2), Tennessee (2), Kansas (2), and Utah (2).
