McDonogh 35 High School made a drastic improvement on the field in 2015. The Roneagles jumped from a 4-8 team a year ago to 11-3 in 2015 making a run into the third round of the Louisiana high school playoffs before falling 27-26 to Easton. The Roneagles are loaded with talent like defensive tackle Stephon Taylor, safety/linebacker Clifford Chattman, a one-time LSU commitment, running back Darius May, and defensive tackle Jamal Crawford. Out of all the talent defensive end Sci Martin had a standout season racking up a school record 33.5 sacks during his senior year.

Martin is in the area of 20 scholarship offers from top programs around the nation including Utah, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Miami, LSU, Florida State, and Arizona State but locked onto the TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday.

The 6’4”, 230 pound, speed rusher was a one-time Tulane commit but opened his recruiting back up in mid-June after more recruiting attention started to roll in. Martin unofficially visited TCU and Texas over the summer making an official to Oklahoma on Oct. 2, an unofficial to LSU on Oct. 24, and an official to Utah on Oct. 30 before his commitment on Dec. 9. TCU hosted the New Orleans area native on Dec. 4.

The Horned Frogs now have 17 verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class with in-roads opening up in Louisiana. Martin is the third Louisiana talent committed to the 2016 group joining wide receiver Isaiah Graham and center Kellton Hollins. The class to date has been fairly balanced between offense and defense with eight, possibly nine players, on defense depending on how the staff utilizes Sewo Olonilua.
