The Horned Frogs finished 6-4 and in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 in 2020 in their 20th season under Gary Patterson. TCU was slated to face Arkansas in a bowl game but had to withdraw due to COVID-19 as they were one of several teams to have games canceled due to the pandemic. Now the focus has turned to the 2021 recruiting class.

As TCU is the newest team in the Big 12 in the state of Texas, the battle to gain ground on Texas, Texas Tech, and Baylor starts on the recruiting trailer. Coach Patterson and his coaching staff are currently corralling a group of young men that will help this program get to the top tier of their conference after finishing fifth last season.

The Horned Frogs signed 13 recruits during the early signing period in December including four-star recruits Ahmonte Watkins, an all-purpose back out of Houston, and Sam Jackson, a quarterback from Naperville (IL).

Two transfers who will make an immediate impact on the defensive side of the ball are cornerback T.J. Carter, a Memphis transfer, and defensive end Kenny Turnier, a Central Florida transfer.

TCU’s recruiting class currently sits near the bottom of the conference ranking just ahead of Texas Tech. The good news, the Horned Frogs have room to add more high end recruits to the mix of two four-stars and 11 three-star prospects.

It will be exciting to watch TCU try and climb the ladder in the conference over the next several years.
