TCU Secures All-Purpose In-State RB Darius Anderson over other Texas Powers

TCU’s 2016 recruiting class continued to roll on Wednesday landing highly regarded George Ranch High School running back Darius Anderson.
The last two seasons for Anderson have been a blur on the field seeing the 5’10.5, 195 pound, back run for 1,861 yards with 14 touchdowns as a junior and 2,274 yards with 30 scores as a senior. Showing his ability to be an every down back, Anderson caught 35 passes for 609 yards with five scores during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The win for TCU was big pulling him away from other in-state powers while flipping him away from Missouri. The Tigers picked up Anderson’s commitment during the Gary Pinkel era on Aug. 22, but lost him on Dec. 22. On Dec. 29, TCU offered as did Alabama creating a recruiting battle over the Rosenberg area native. Other schools fighting for his commitment included Houston, Texas, Texas A&M, Utah, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado, and Cal among others.
The Horned Frogs are looking good heading towards National Signing Day. With 20 overall verbal commitments, Rivals ranks the class No. 17 in the nation.
