BRADENTON, Fla. – UCF, Western Michigan, Florida International, Toledo, Alabama-Brimingham, and West Virginia, it was a very good spring for Alvoid Kennon Jr. The rising 2025 defensive lineman out of Bradenton’s (Fla.) Manatee High School impressed drawing in the offers. A March visit to Orlando resonated strongly with Kennon (6-1, 275) which could lead to a return hang with the Knights this summer.

Kennon spoke about his offseason training with Manatee while teams like UCF and West Virginia were watching.

“My spring went well,” Kennon said. “I got better at the little stuff, but it is about getting better overall. I’m going to work hard this summer to get better at all the things I need to work on.”

Kennon continued, “My recruiting process has been steady. Right now, I am just getting ready for this grind for the upcoming season.”

UCF defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin was one of the coaches that stopped by the Bradenton campus. The Knights welcomed Kennon to campus in early March.

“They remind me of here, if I am being honest,” Kennon shared. “UCF is a place I am comfortable with. I love their coaching staff, I especially like how they run things. It works smooth there. I want to try to visit UCF again.”

Some visits may get mixed in with camps this summer.

“I may go to an FSU camp and a few others, I am still trying to work that out,” Kennon stated.

When Kennon takes the field this fall with the Hurricanes, he will get time at defensive tackle and nose guard with some spot duty at end. He ended his sophomore season with 28 stops, 12 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and five QB hurries.
