Tennessee Lands 3-star DT D’Andre Christmas-Giles out of New Orleans

The courting process did not take long between D’Andre Christmas-Giles and Tennessee with the Volunteers landing their target five days after offering the Louisiana recruit.
Christmas-Giles might be the textbook version of an under the radar gem mined by Tennessee. The 6’4”, 290 pound, tackle missed the 2014 season after transferring from Salmen to St. Augustine limiting his recruiting.
At the time of his commitment Christmas-Giles had 14 scholarship offers that included Kansas, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, San Diego State, and Louisiana-Lafayette among others. Tennessee offered the big man on Aug. 24 then secured his verbal commitment on Saturday Aug. 29.
Tennessee now has 16 verbal commitments for their 2016 recruiting class. Christmas-Giles is the second defensive tackle the Vols have landed joining junior college standout Alexis Johnson and also the second Louisiana high school talent joining Evangel Christian wide receiver Corey Henderson.
