On Monday, Tennessee added their third recruit to the 2017 class landing versatile Georgia athlete Marquez Bembry.

Bembry did a little bit of everything for Mount Vernon Presbyterian in 2015 lining up at wide receiver and on the defensive line as an outside speed rusher. Through 10 games with the Mustangs, Bembry tallied a team-high 31 receptions for 397 yards with six touchdowns. Stats for Bembry were incomplete on defense, but he lined up at both end spots being too quick for most tackles he faced consistently putting pressure on opposing Georgia offenses on passing downs.

Tennessee has monitored Bembry’s growth on the field seeing him at a June camp last summer leading to an offer on Jan. 26. The Volunteers hosted the 6’3”, 214 pound, talent on March 5 during Tennessee’s Junior Day. The Vols landed Bembry over offers from 11 other schools including Cincinnati, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Tulane, UAB, Louisville, and Mississippi State among others. FSU hosted Bembry for their Junior Day on Feb. 27

Bembry made his decision public via Twitter posting, “Proud to say I’ve committed to the University of Tennessee #VolNation.”

The Volunteers now have three verbal commitments to their 2017 class with two coming from the Peach State.
