The Aggies added a very big piece to their recruiting puzzle on Friday landing in-state Magnolia West High School talent Myles Jones to their 2017 class.

Jones was part of the Mustangs 8-4 team in 2015 lining up as corner. Whether down on the line in press coverage or laying off in a zone, Jones always seemed to be around the ball coming up with at least four picks during his junior season and constantly breaking up pass plays.

Colleges love Jones size and speed. Listed at 6’4”, 182 pounds, the Magnolia area talent reports a 40-yard dash of 4.49 making him a unique athlete out on the island. Jones has secured double-digit offers coming in from teams like Baylor, Cal, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Colorado, SMU, Utah, Houston, Colorado State, Oklahoma State, and Mississippi State.

Jones made his commitment official on Twitter posting, “Very blessed to say that I’m committing to Texas A&M!!! Thanks to God, the Fam, and coaches. #GigEmGang17.”

Aggie fans may be a little tentative with Jones’ commitment. Jones has been on multiple unofficial visits in the offseason including SMU, TCU, and Oklahoma. The Aggies hosted him on April 5 but he has already scheduled an unofficial with the Texas Longhorns for April 16.

The Aggies now have five verbal commitments to their 2017 recruiting class highlighted by fellow 4-star recruits in Tate Martell and Mannie Netherly.
