The coaches at Blountstown High School (Fla.) utilized Jordan Pride (6-2.5, 175) in all possible ways during the 2022 season. The 2024 prospect led his Tigers squad in receptions (27), receiving yards (667), and receiving scores (6), he was a leader as a return specialist, and helped shutdown Florida offenses in the secondary with 20 stops and two picks. The athletic four-star had his pick of 23 next level landing spots verbally committing to Texas A&M on Tuesday.

The Aggies welcomed Pride to College Station over the weekend, which helped set the stage.

“It was great,” Pride said. “That was my third time going there. I hung out this time getting to know the coaches more, especially my position coach. Overall, it was great.”

The long-standing relationship with A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was a contributing factor in Pride’s decision.

“The recruiting process with A&M started last summer when Jimbo offered me,” Pride shared. “I’ve known him since I was 11, playing baseball with his son. Reconnecting with him was a big part of the recruiting process.”

The weekend trip pushed A&M out ahead of another SEC squad.

“This weekend was probably what brought them over Florida,” Pride stated. “It was 50-50, but after talking with Jimbo a lot over the weekend, that pushed them over.”

The Aggies see Pride as a next level defender.

“They said they would probably start me off at corner,” Pride said. “They feel they can develop me better at corner with my length and with my speed. I love playing corner; it doesn’t matter to me, I just want to be on the field.”

Pride gave the good news to the Aggies on Saturday.

“I committed to Jimbo during one of two meetings I had with him this weekend,” Pride shared. “Jimbo was fired up when I committed. He said, “My Tuesday just got a lot better”.”

Pride shared his thoughts on his verbal commitment, “It is exciting. It is a dream come true knowing and feeling like I made the right decision this time; there is no coming off this decision.”

An official visit date to A&M has not been set yet, but plans are being made to take it in June.
