Texas secured another verbal commitment from a prized recruit at the defensive end position on Monday with in-state four-star defensive end Ta’Quon Graham.
Graham has been a playmaker for since his sophomore season. After coming up with 37 stops, seven tackles for a loss, and four sacks as a sophomore, the 6-3, 255 pound, end bested himself with 62 tackles, 23 tackles for a loss, and 11.5 sacks in 2015.
All of the tough play in the trenches helped Temple High School to a 12-2 mark a year ago with a deep run into the playoffs. The extra time on the field helped showcase Graham’s skill set earning 17-5A MVP honors and a first team All-State. The extra attention also helped bring college recruiters to the yard.
The Wildcats standout had 20-plus offers by the time he committed to the Longhorns with teams like Baylor, Arkansas, Nebraska, Georgia, Michigan, Kansas State, Cal, Houston, USC, Texas A&M, TCU, and Oklahoma in pursuit. Graham put an end to his recruiting process posting his commitment on Twitter:
The Longhorns staff has been slow to add recruits to the class but the commitments on the board are all talented prospects. Graham joins another four-star up front on defense in the 2017 class, Liberty-Eylau’s Lagaryonn Carson.
Graham and the Wildcats are off to a 2-0 start to their 2016 season with wins over Belton and Round Rock.
