Texas Longhorns Add In-State TE Cade Brewer and RB Daniel Young

New Texas head coach Tom Herman got two extra reasons to have a Merry Christmas on Friday when in-state tight end Cade Brewer and Daniel Young verbally committed.
Herman has been very high on Young throughout 2016 recruiting him to the University of Houston when he was the head coach there. Young committed to the Cougars on Sept. 27. When Herman made the transition from Houston to Austin, he extended an offer to Young on Dec. 8. On Dec. 20 the 6-0, 210 pound, Westfield High School product decommitted from the Cougars announcing his pledge to the Longhorns three days later. Young rushed for 1,290 yards with 19 touchdowns during his senior season.
Brewer is yet another flip for Herman and company taking the Lake Travis High School star away from SMU. Brewer verbally committed to the Mustangs on April 20 hanging with SMU over offers from Texas A&M, Kansas State, San Diego State, Baylor, and Oklahoma, to name a few, before deciding to stay home for college. The 6-3, 223, pound, every down end caught 51 passes for 813 yards with 14 scores as a junior then upped his game pulling in 64 for 853 yards with 14 more scores in 2016.
The Longhorns have the No. 49 ranked recruiting class in the nation per Rivals with six four-star players and five three-star talents. 247Sports has a far more generous rating for Texas despite having just 11 recruits thus far at No. 30 in the country, No. 3 in the Big 12.
