If you’ve been around the game for a few minutes, you just know at first glance when a player has something. Push it a little further with Asharri Charles (6-2, 215), the Venice 2026 weakside defensive end has it all. The unlimited ceiling will be on full display with Florida’s Venice High School this fall and has been showcased early for all the programs making the rounds to the Indians’ practices this spring.

For now, the recruiting process is quiet for Charles holding an offer from Florida State, but all of that will change. Meanwhile, the Seminoles are tying early bonds that could pay off come National Signing Day.

“I just like the program,” Charles said. “I have loved FSU since I was a kid; I have always wanted to go there.”

Communication is limited because of NCAA rules, but the want to is there.

“They want to talk to me, but they really can’t talk to me much because I am a freshman, but I like talking to them when I can,” Charles stated.

A trip to Tallahassee is being planned for this summer.

“This summer, I am going to FSU,” Charles shared. “I might camp there.”

One of the best kept secrets along Florida’s central gulf coast is coming to light. The Twitter follows are adding up.

“I’m receiving interest from Wisconsin, USF, South Carolina, Florida, and West Virginia,” Charles said.
