Top 2018 California High School Football Games

The 2018 high school football season is upon us with teams throughout the Golden State chomping at the bit for a chance to showcase their hard work and dedication to the game over the offseason. As is always the case, the state of California is busting at the seams with incredible talent leading to amazing on the field matchups both individually and offense verses defense as a unit. The race for the next CIF championship beings with games on August 17 with everyone chasing 2017 California state and national champs Mater Dei.

The following is a breakdown of some of the top games in California throughout the 2018 regular season with a few highlighted out of state showdowns that could help lead to the crowning of a national champion. One thing is for sure, if Mater Dei is to repeat as national champs, they will have earned it. The Monarchs not only go through the always brutal Trinity League schedule having to face other squads with national and state title dreams like St. John Bosco and Orange Lutheran, but they also take on Nevada’s top team, Bishop Gorman, and one of the top private school teams in the nation, IMG Academy.
