Top Five Class of 2016 Uncommitted High School Recruits in Indiana

Indiana produces talented college football recruits every year and the Class of 2016 is no different as high athletes from all across the Hoosier state will go on to play college football all over the country.

Some notable football players to come out of Indiana, thrive at the college level and make it to the NFL includes current Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, current Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Zach Martin, and current Tennessee Titans defensive back Bernard Pollard.

Some top Class of 2016 recruits from Indiana include Avon quarterback Brandon Peters (Michigan), Bishop Luers (Fort Wayne) wide receiver Austin Mack (Ohio State), Carroll (Fort Wayne) quarterback Aidan Smith (Northwestern),  Brownsburg athlete Toks Akinribade (Iowa), and Carmel linebacker Noah Burks (Wisconsin).

However, there are many top recruits in this area that are still weighing all their options before making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. These athletes are being looked at by college teams every day and have about three weeks before National Signing Day on Feb. 3 to make pick their college of choice.

Collin Miller

6’3”, 225 pounds

Linebacker

Hamilton Southeastern High School, Fishers

2015 stats: 111 total tackles, 11 sacks 4 forced fumbles, one fumble recovery

19 offers: Indiana, Nebraska, Duke, South Florida, Arizona State

Official Visits: Indiana December 11, South Florida January 15, Duke January 22, Nebraska January 29

Plays hard with great intensity and effort. Played a lot of linebacker in high school but has the ability to play as a defensive end and has tremendous pass rushing skills at both of these positions.  Has the strength to deliver violent hits.

Jovan Swann – verbally committed to Stanford on Tuesday (Jan. 12)

6’3”, 265 pounds

Defensive Tackle

Center Grove, Greenwood

20 offers: Stanford, Northwestern Indiana

Official Visits: Stanford on Oct. 3, Northwestern on Dec. 4, and Indiana on Dec. 11

Plays with a fast motor and has tremendous athleticism. He is very quick and disruptive who can make big plays in the backfield. Is very strong and plays with a good level. He will be even better when he becomes stronger and improves with his hands at the collegiate level.

Nathanael Snyder

6’1”, 192 pounds

Kicker

Center Grove High School, Greenwood

2015 stats: Extra points 57-of-60, Field Goals 10-of-14 with a long of 53 yards

Five offers: Army, Iowa State, Marshall, Robert Morris, and Toledo

Has a strong leg to kick the ball deep into the end zone. Handles onside kicking very well as he can put different spins on bounces on the ball. Has great height on his field goals. Hits a very consistent ball whether it’s a field goal or an extra point.

John Michael Hankerson

6’1”, 170 pounds

Safety, Athlete

Washington High School, South Bend

2015 Offensive Stats: Receiving 27 catches for 547 yards, six receiving touchdowns, and one kickoff return for a touchdown

2015 Defensive Stats: 77 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, two interceptions

Six offers: Mississippi State, Bowling Green, Illinois State, Indiana, Miami (OH), and Western Michigan

Has tremendous speed and footwork which he utilizes on both sides of the ball. Can easily close in on a ball carrier and deliver a big hit. Does a good job of not letting opponents break away from him while being tackled.

Jasion Brogan

6’2”, 265 pounds

Defensive Tackle

Warren Central High School, Indianapolis

Two offers: Ball State and Illinois

Interest: Wisconsin

Very strong and able to use his good footwork to get past offensive lineman and make plays in the backfield. Plays with a strong motor and never gives up on a play. Has good closing in speed to chase down ball carriers.
