Top Five Uncommitted Class of 2016 High School Recruits in Alabama

Alabama produces talented college football recruits every year and the Class of 2016 is no different with high athletes from all across the state scheduled to play college football all over the country next season.

At the beginning of the 2015 NFL season, there 63 players on active rosters that played their high school football in Alabama including Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, and San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers.

Some top Class of 2016 recruits from Alabama include Greenville defensive end Marlon Davidson (Auburn), Prattville running back Kingston Davis (Michigan), Theodore running back Lamical Perine (Florida), Austin (Decatur) offensive lineman Deonte Brown (Alabama), and Madison Academy (Madison) athlete Malik Miller (Auburn).

However, there are many top recruits in this area that are still weighing all their options before making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. These athletes are being looked at by college teams every day and have about three weeks before National Signing Day on Feb. 3 to make pick their college of choice.

Ben Davis

6’3”, 240 pounds

Davis has so much natural ability and potential that he will be a star at the collegiate level. Has a tremendous ability to rush the quarterback and stop ball carriers. Uses his great athleticism and speed to close in on opponents and deliver big hits.

Lyndell Wilson

6’2”, 220 pounds

Outside Linebacker

Carver High School, Montgomery

2015 stats: 115 total tackles, 17 quarterback hurries, five sacks, four forced fumbles, one interception

19 offers: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia

On Dec. 25, announced his final three choices in this order: Florida, Alabama, and Georgia

Uses his tremendous footwork and explosiveness to get past offensive lineman and make plays in the backfield.  Has great speed to close in on ball carriers and deliver big hits.  Plays with great intensity and effort.

Jamal Couch

6’5”, 217 pounds

Jamal has great athleticism and size which means he can play a variety of positions. Played more offense then defense in high school. Has tremendous concentration and has the ability to make catches all over the field. Has the ability to break out of tackles by using his skill-set, versatility, and body control.

On Dec. 6, on his twitter account he announced, “In the end a business decision has been made. It has been brought to my attention that the University of Tennessee has revoked their scholarship offer and has left me no choice but to re-open my recruitment.”

Has tremendous footwork to move around in the pocket or breakaway for a big gain on the ground. Has a great leaping ability to leap over defenders or jump high to grab an interception. His throws are accurate whether he his throwing from the pocket or on the run.

6’0”, 190 pounds

Tremendous eye for the ball and has the ability to make plays all over the field. Has a great leaping ability to go up and snag the ball out of the air. Uses his blazing speed to run back punts and return interceptions.
