More than a list of favorites may be brewing for 2025 tight end Emaree Winston (6-2, 240). The offensive standout for Calhoun High School (Calhoun, Ga.) is the holder of 41 offers, but that list has been narrowed down for the time being. On Thursday, the four-star dropped his top six already with an idea of his next level fit within that mix.

Winston listed out the contending programs, “USC, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio State, UCF, and Colorado.”

Insight into the six teams atop Winston’s list was provided.

THE BREAKDOWN

USC: “I like how far away USC is and I like their coaching staff. Coach (Lincoln) Riley and I, we FaceTime. At first, they were not in it, but they made the list in a hurry.”

North Carolina: “Coach (Mack) Brown and coach (Freddie) Kitchens (TE). Coach Kitchens being in the NFL for so long, I know he can develop me.”

Tennessee: “Tennessee is close to home, and I like coach (Alec) Abeln (TE) and coach (Josh) Heupel. With coach Heupel, I talk to him like I talk to coach Riley. (USC)”

Ohio State: “I love coach Key and coach Day. My mom loves them. Seriously, I have been there the most, and it keeps getting better as we go.”

UCF: “Coach (Brian) Blackmon (TE), he is family type, and that is what my mom likes and wants for me. She wants a home away from home for me.”

Colorado: “I can’t even lie, I threw them in there because they are Colorado. Coach Prime (Deion Sanders), he is that guy; there’s not much else you have to say.”

Game-day visits this fall have not been set, but if time permits, at least two would happen.

“I don’t know where I am going yet,” Winston stated. “O-State for sure and USC, those are the only two I got right now.”

With the list shared, is there a commitment coming?

“I don’t know yet; I don’t want to commit too soon,” Winston said. “I have an idea where I want to go.”
