USC got a big win on Thursday when Portland linebacker Daniel Green verbally committed to the Trojans.

Green was a standout performer for Madison High School in 2015 suffering through a tough losing season. The 6’3”, 230 pound, recruit was a beast in the middle coming up with 165 tackles, he even lined up at running back from time to time.

Besides the big production, Green flashed great athleticism being a true sideline to sideline player running down plays on the outside and showing a burst of speed at running back busting through the front seven for big gains. The Trojans won Green’s commitment over offers from Arizona, Cal, Hawaii, Colorado, Idaho, Colorado State, Utah State, Utah and in-state Pac-12 programs Oregon State and Oregon.

Green posted his commitment announcement on Twitter reading, “With the rich linebacker tradition and the blessings of my love one. I’ve committed to the USC Trojans #Fighton.”

The Trojans now have six verbal commitments to their 2017 recruiting class highlighted by five-star running back Stephen Carr.
