For all writers, coming up with that first sentence of any story, article, or interview can sometimes be the hardest. When trying to think about how to open the interview piece with Ezekiel Noa there was no hesitation.

If I was Ezekiel Noa’s high school or college coach, he would be the first off the bus every time.

For those readers that may not follow, the first person off the bus sets the tone for any given team when on the road. The tone all visiting teams want to instill in the home team and with their fans is fear and intimidation from the moment the team gets off that bus, and Noa fits the part perfectly.

The California linebacker is 6’0” tall and 230 pounds of solid muscle. Filling the middle of the defense for Helix High School, Noa already seems to play above his years showing great instincts, patience, poise, and technique following his coaching to a tee on running and passing plays. Any given ball carrier can juke, spin, cut-step, or whatever. When the ball carrier is done, Noa will have broken down waited and delivered a shot like an angry muscle mass coming out of a canon.

Noa helped the Highlanders to an 11-2 record in 2015 showing his athleticism on both sides of the ball lining up at running back. Used more as a blocking back and as a weapon in the passing game, the La Mesa area recruit caught seven passes for 159 yards with three scores. All of that is expected to change during his senior season when he will be the starting tailback for Helix or at least a more frequent contributor to the ground game with the ball in his hands.

The defensive side of the ball is where Noa made his reputation. The Class of 2017 recruit came up with at least 92 tackles (team-high), 67 solo, 9.5 sacks, and at least one interception; stat line is incomplete. The offers have started to come in for Noa with Wisconsin, San Diego State, Colorado, and Washington State all seeking his skill set.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Noa at the Nike Opening regional camp in Los Angeles receiving a recruiting update
