To say UCF has momentum on the recruiting trail is an understatement. The Knights closed strong in the 2023 class and have kept pushing their messaging as the program prepares for a massive change taking on Big 12 competition this fall. The move to Power Five action has high-profile players like Taevion Swint (5-9.5, 190) choosing to stay home for college, and he is convincing other elite players to join him in Orlando.

After committing to UCF on April 14, Swint took a break from the recruiting trail, but travel plans will pick back up this fall.

“I am planning on taking visits during the season,” Swint said. “I’m visiting Florida State for sure, I am going up to Georgia, and I might go visit Miami.”

The prospect-coach relationship via Tallahassee was detailed.

“It is pretty good,” Swint shared. “Since I committed to UCF, I haven’t really been talking to anyone, but I will get back in contact with them; you know, it is still love.”

Heading to Athens will be a family affair.

“I’m very excited,” Swint stated. “I have family up there, and I get to bring my family home. They like Georgia; I want to see how that goes.”

The Hurricanes’ staff is keeping tabs on one of the nation’s best in the 2025 class.

“Our relationship is pretty good,” Swint said. “Their coaches are still staying in contact with me, our relationship is pretty good.”

Playing for Osceola High School (Kissimmee, Fla.), the four-star is one of the Knights’ “hometown heroes”. That bond is strong and continues to grow.

“It is going really well,” Swint shared. “Coach Kam (Martin), he calls me almost every other day or I get in touch with him. Coach Alex Mathis (player personnel) and coach Gus Malzahn, every time I go there, they greet me at the door. We will go in his office and talk for hours. It is home. They are right up the road; you can’t beat it.”

Swint’s desire to bring as much top talent to Orlando shows, he helped recruit a four-star in the 2024 class at his own position.

“I recruited (RB) Stacy Gage, that was a big recruit for us,” Swint stated. “(DE) DJ Allen, we got a lot of guys onboard.”

Asked if there was any big recruiting news coming down the line for UCF fans, Swint promptly replied, “Yes, sir. There is a big commit in my class, in the 2025 class.”

Regardless of grade classification, Swint was one of the Sunshine State’s best tailbacks last fall rushing 224 times for 1,666 yards with 20 trips into the end zone. Being that all-around threat out of the backfield, Swint also secured 15 passes for 161 yards with four more scores.
