The Huskies received good news on Saturday when 4-star cornerback Isaiah Gilchrist verbally committed to Washington.

The 5’11”, 180 pound, cornerback is highly rated but no teams outside of Pac-12 country have tried to wrangle the Bellevue High School talent into another region. Gilchrist has offers from Arizona, USC, Oregon, Cal, Arizona State, and Washington State. The other early contender for Gilchrist was rumored to be ASU.

Gilchrist committed while taking an unofficial to Washington. The news was first leaked as a silent commitment but all was cleared up with a post on Twitter reading, “I would like to thank all of the programs and coaches for recruiting me thus far but after much talk with my family and friends I’ve decided to commit to the University of Washington #GO DAWGS!!”

Bellevue went 13-1 last season falling to Eastside Catholic in the playoffs. The Wolverines had a tough season opener on Friday against No. 1 nationally ranked Bishop Gorman losing 35-7 at home.
