2017 Stats (8 games): 30 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, and eight sacks

In the first of a weekly series with the three-star defensive end that will run throughout the season, I got a few minutes with Ma’ae getting an update on the Gaels’ in fall camp, an update on his recruiting, and a quick look ahead to this week’s showdown against No. 2 Mater Dei.

Treven, how did fall camp with the Gaels go?

“It was good.”

Where are you seeing the biggest improvements in your skillset during fall camp over last season?

“I have been getting better against the run.”

Where all will we see you on the field this year?

“I am playing defensive end and tight end this year.”

What personal goals have you set for your play at defensive end this season?

“Don’t lose my containment.”

How is the team looking overall in camp?

“Solid.”

The 2018 season kicks off for you guys with a big non-conference showdown against 2017 national champs Mater Dei, what is the mindset of the team this week before Friday’s game?

“We are only focused on winning.”

What kind of game are you expecting from the Monarchs?

“We are expecting them to execute on every play.”

Treven, if you will, give me a recruiting update; do you have any new recruiting interest since we last spoke?

“No.”

Where is your total offers at now?

“I have 20 offers.”

Which school was the last to have offered you?

“Louisville.”

Did you take any unofficial summer visits?

“Yes. I went to Hawaii, Oregon, and TCU.”

Do you have any planned visits for this fall, official or unofficial?

“I will plan some, but I have nothing confirmed right now.”

Because you have so many offers, have you started thinking about a commitment date yet?

“No. Not yet.”

Do you plan to release a “top schools” list, if so, when?

“No. I don’t plan on releasing a top schools list.”
