West Orange dual-threat quarterback Woody Barrett verbally commits to Auburn

On Wednesday May 20, dual-threat quarterback Woody Barrett set his announcement date for June 3. As promised, the West Orange High School prized recruit followed through committing to the Auburn Tigers.

Barrett, listed at 6’2”, 225 pounds, had 16 reported scholarship offers with top teams like Texas, Tennessee, Ohio State, Michigan State, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Clemson, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin all seeking his services at the next level. When the announcement date was set the water cooler talk was the Florida recruit was down to Alabama and Auburn as his top two schools.

The War Eagles now have seven verbal commitments to their 2016 class with Barrett being the second Floridian to join the list, WR Eli Stove (Niceville). Auburn signed just one quarterback to the 2015 class Tyler Queen (North Cobb HS, Kennesaw, Georgia).
