Wisconsin reached across the country pulling in three recruits from three different states pushing their 2017 class to 15 total commits. The first to commit was Texas wide receiver Emmet Perry on Halloween followed by New Jersey running back Jonathan Taylor and Iowa junior college defensive end Andrew Van Ginkel on Nov. 1.

Perry is an under the radar recruit the Badgers snuck away with out of DeSoto High School. Perry had reported offers from Colgate, Georgetown, Alcorn State, Bowling Green, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and North Texas. The 6-2, 170 pound, receiver visited Madison for the Nebraska game walking away seeing a thrilling victory, receiving an offer, and then committing to a Power Five Conference.

Taylor is a back with good speed and size built in the traditional Badgers’ mold. The 6-0, 211 pound, Salem High School standout jumped on recruiting boards after a junior season filled with 1,400 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. The three-star recruit picked Wisconsin over offers from Boston College, Harvard, Army, Yale, Temple, Rutgers, Navy, UMass, Buffalo, Washington State, and Virginia Tech.

The immediate impact prize of the trio may be Van Ginkel. The four-star talent had double-digit offers from top schools like Iowa, Kansas State, Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia, Cal, Colorado, Minnesota, Louisville, and Nebraska. Wisconsin landing the 6-4, 230 pound, end was a big pull considering he played his high school ball at Rock Valley in Iowa.

247Sports rates Wisconsin’s 2017 class No. 36 in the nation, No. 10 overall in the Big Ten. Rivals rates the Badgers’ class No. 37 in the nation with four four-star recruits.
