Jake St. Andre made a name for himself throughout his career at Haughton High School putting an exclamation mark on it all in 2020 as he racked up 106 total tackles including seven for a loss, one interception, and one defensive touchdown. The highly productive senior season for the Buccaneers ultimately helped Andre become the program’s all-time leading tackler. After the 2020 season, Andre won numerous individual honors including All-Northwest Louisiana Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-State.

On Nov. 30, 2020, St. Andre announced on his Twitter page, “I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Louisiana!” The 6’1″, 220-pound, tackling machine chose the Cajuns over Southern Miss and Northwestern State.

St. Andre joins a program that is coming off a 10-1 season and has a recruiting class currently ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference, 78th in the country.

It will be exciting to watch Jake take his talents to the collegiate level after leaving a lasting legacy on the Haughton program.
