The Royse City High School (7-1) offense is so potent, they can get opposing 5A Texas teams in any number of ways. The rushing attack is a four-headed monster with seniors Payton Petroff and Bryce Martinez along with sophomore Ahmon Petty-Dozier and dual-threat Tyson Oliver taking off when needed. If defenses load the box, Oliver can drop back hitting standout four-star 2021 receiver Ketron Jackson. The 6-1, 183-pound, target is a guaranteed play-maker with 35 receptions for 497 yards and four touchdowns on the season while adding 85 rush yards to the Bulldogs’ ground game off four totes.

The offer sheet for Jackson continues to grow with latest scholarships coming in from TCU and Ohio State. For an update on all his activities, we sat down for another visit.

Interview

Ketron, the Bulldogs offense has been stout against 5A defenses this season getting 31 points per game on average. What are the strengths of the offense this season?

“Our offensive strength is running, but then that opens up our passing attack. That all balances out.”

Of the games played this season, which has been your best?

“The best game I had was against Garland. I had six receptions for 90 yards with one touchdown. I had 150 all-purpose against Garland.”

Nice. Which areas of your game are really starting to take over as the strengths to your game?

“My strengths are my speed and physicality.”

What are some areas of your skillset that you are constantly working on wanting to bring them up with your other strengths?

“The things that I am constantly working on are my route running, blocks, and catching.”

How many college scholarship offers are you holding?

“I have 16 offers.”

Which schools were the most recent to offer you?

“Ohio State and TCU.”

How did Ohio State offer you?

“They offered over the phone, I talked to their QB coach, Coach (Mike) Yurcich.”

Are there any schools showing interest but have not offered yet?

“Purdue has shown interest.”

Since we talked last in late August, have you taken any visits?

“Yes. I went to OU (Oklahoma) and Baylor games.”

Coming up, are there any planned trips on the schedule?

“I am going to Ohio State in late November. I want to visit Baylor and TCU this season and I am planning to take an official to Alabama in the spring.”

That will be fun. With the 2019 season, what is the playoff scenario for the Bulldogs?

“If we win the next two, we will have a home playoff game.”

How is the team looking overall?

“We are looking sharp but we still have things to work on. We are trying to get the offense right. The defense has been carrying us all season, but we are getting close.”
