Interview

Treven, for you personally, how did the game against Mater Dei go?

“For me personally, this game showed me that I can compete against talented players. Playing against Mater Dei helped me to see what I need to improve on like my angles, using my hands more, and playing faster.”

What were some of the things you did well?

“On defense, I did not lose containment, did my assignments, pursued the ball till the whistle, and did not miss tackles when I had the opportunity. On special teams and on offense, I did my assignment, made my blocks, and had a couple of pancakes.”

After watching the game film, what are some of the things you’ve been working on this week in practice?

“Hat, hands, pad level, and going back to the fundamentals.”

How will playing against a top team like Mater Dei help you and the Gaels the rest of the season?

“Mater Dei is the gauge for all teams.”

This week you guys travel to Peoria (AZ) to take on Centennial (1-0), the No. 7 ranked team in Arizona. What kind of game are you expecting from the Coyotes’ offense?

“We are expecting a good game so our D-line will be working hard to control the line of scrimmage.”

What was the mindset of the team this week in practice?

“To not let what happened last week happen again.”

Any new recruiting news?

“Michigan State is showing interest.”

Treven, thanks for your time today and good luck against Centennial.

“Thank you.”
