The Trojans went into Florida for a second time in the 2017 recruiting class landing three-star defensive end Jacob Lichtenstein on Tuesday.

Lichtenstein’s three-star ranking is not a product of his value on the recruiting trail. The Cypress Bay High School (Class 8A) talent was near 40 scholarship offers before committing to USC. USC beat out offers from Alabama, Mississippi State, Pitt, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, South Carolina, Iowa State, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, and Arkansas for the Fort Lauderdale talent.

USC’s newest commitment broke news via Twitter posting, “Im [sic] officially committed to The University of Southern California. Fight On.”

The month of August has been a hot one for the Trojans. USC has picked up four commitments this month also landing athlete Juwan Burgess out of the Tampa area on Aug. 3.
