USC Trojans Add Lynwood 2017 CB Wylan Free

USC got their 2017 recruiting class back to 10 commits on Saturday with a verbal commitment of Lynwood High School cornerback Wylan Free.

Free was a two-way standout for the Knights in 2015 lining up at wide receiver and cornerback. On offense, Free pulled in 15 passes for 281 yards with two scores in eight games. On the defensive side of the ball the 6’1”, 165 pound, athlete excelled stopping opposing California passing attacks tallying 56 tackles, 40 solo along with two tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, and broke up 11 attempts.

USC secured Free’s verbal commitment over offers from Boise State, Hawaii, Utah State, Brigham Young, and Utah.

The Trojans had a busy June pulling in four verbal commitments; Brett Neilon, Adrew Vorhees, C.J. Miller, and Erik Krommenhoek. The commitment of Free should give USC some momentum on the recruiting trail heading into the 2016 season.
